OK, when I was really little, my 2 brothers used to scare the crap out of me by shutting off all the lights in the house, and BLASTING this song!!

Heh...I'll be 33 soon. Ok, I'll put it this way. Around here at least, the only people that know who Schenker is, are guitar players. And most of those that know who he is, never heard anything by him. They know he was in UFO, but that's about it. Once in awhile you can run into someone that actually heard his music, and might even have a few albums. They're missin' out, that's all I can say.

Can't answer this one, it's harder than the top LP's and song list for me to complete!
There are at least 10 solos by each of my fave axemen alone that cannot even be compared to each other.
I will say that Randy Jackson has a couple of great solos in my list. The slower more melodic solo's as his "fast" stuff doesn't do much for me (kinda sloppy, I know I might get killed for saying that but for me it's true, especially that "fast" stuff he does live all the time, <like when the ending of Tell Me What You Want when he plays the end of the solo extremely fast, those same few notes over & over>).
When Randy and puts some emotion into it like Lullaby & Don't Walk Away it's great! The Arabian solo rocks too for a faster RJ solo, hopefully we will have a lot of that on the new CD. I never think of RJ as a guitar player first, I always associate Randy with some of the greatest songwriting instead of a guitarist.

WOW Sam, I am surprised that you think Randy is a sloppy guitar player when he plays fast. I am also partial to his slower solos but always thought he plays pretty clean when he starts shredding.

That's awesome you know that tune! Everytime I mention it to someone they never what I'm talking about. Good find!
"Tonight the Zeroes will be singing for you!"
BTW -Checkout the Bowie Glass Spider MP3's from the '87 tour (both a show from Australia & Canada, one is a King Biscuit, the other is a Westwood One show) as the live version of tunes like Time & Never Let Me Down are way cool! That was the only time I ever saw Bowie, that tour @ the Superdome when I was in 10th grade!

I guess it's not that it's really sloppy but kinda just like a few notes on the high E over & over, that little pattern he gets into sometimes and keeps going and sometimes does the same lick in the solo for a couple of different tunes in one show sometimes. I guess it's that I like original distinct solos so that's way I like his solols in tunes like Don't Walk Away quite a lot. He's a good guitarist I guess I just don't get into the faster stuff he does.

I can agree with that, sometimes repetitive...yes, sloppy...no.
I also think that the "Don't Walk Away" solo is his best..."Lullaby" too.

I'm going nuts trying to get all of Alex Lifeson's sounds down nonetheless learn the Rush tunes for my current gig. The guy uses like 10 different chorus sounds!
We will just jam & you can show us Southern folks some Rock N Roll guitar "the way it oughta be" & we will teach you how to play Dixie on the banjo!:)

Y'all better be stop knocking on Randy's solos, dawgs.
That "high e" hammerons belong to "Summer's gone" and "Taking a Stance" and I like both of those songs. The others belong to the La La song (I can hear La La in the Arabian Knights Solo: anybody hear that?) What about "Better Not Call" Solo; Fast, clean, rippin', original sounding.
Zchick: Ghost of a chance is awesome song and solo.
Good metal music: Iron Maiden (new album in NOV.), Motorhead, Dio, etc.
Just a few of the things I hate about new metal music:
Dry, Dry, Dry..........Dry!
Double base and snare is the whole drum line.
Weird, guitar sounds with no emotion and.....Dry!
Alot of the singing has no emotion.
No viberance on bass guitars......Dry!
Name one newer metal band with a keyboard..........ok........waiting.....
