:bounce:I know snow is nothing new to the Northern Message Boarders,
but it is for us Southerners! It snowed for several hours here
in the New Orleans area today! Took lots of pictures and acted
like a kid. It was beautiful and such a treat for us. Luckily I
work in the office of the condo complex where I live, so I didn't
have to drive in it...

In this large condo complex where I am employed, the majority of the
residents are senior citizens - 65 and up to 98 yrs. young. It was such
a joy to see some of them yesterday acting like kids. Some were out on
their balconies in their robes just looking at the beautiful view, one was
on the ground making snow angels, a few of them made snowmen, and
several were tossing snowballs at each other. I walked out of the
office with my camera for a few moments to capture some of this
and got pelted with snowballs. It was a lot of fun! It was almost all
gone by the afternoon and today there's no evidence of the gorgeous
white blanket that covered everything yesterday...We get excited on
the rare occassion of snow in South Louisiana....and this snowfall
fell yesterday longer than any snow I can remember and left more on
the ground than I had ever seen....Today - back to normal - - -

I brought my camera in and took a few pictures from my office. Some of the ladies pictured at the end went onto the media on Jefferson and made snow angels.....kids.....geesh.

I know I will rot in hell for saying this but wouldn't it been funny if people were walking by watching the old folks out there making snow angles and said "Look, even they are having fun", and the old folks would yell back "Fun??? Whose having fun.....we slipped on the fricken ice and can't get back up". But I'm glad that even the adults were able to relax for a few hours and just remember what it was like to have fun.

It's strange that parts South of us got snow - my sisters in Indiana were so excited that Texas got snow and then I told them it was no where near me here in the DFW area. It's nice when it's a day and then melts though (having grown up in Indiana and having to shovel it). Thanks for sharing the slide show too!

:juggle: ...and it snowed this week in Vegas.
An old friend of mine from New Orleans lives there now
in the suburbs and called to tell me about the snow there,
since I had called him last week to tell him about the snow here...

(where's all that global warming? haha)

It was nice to see the snow in New Orleans. My dogs were scared to go outside. We took lots of pictures as well.

Hope everyone has a nice holiday.

Cheers,
