Put on VH1 Classic all weekend because it's all metal videos! From Anthrax to Zeno!
2 days of nothing but metal videos. Just saw an Alcaltraz video with Steve Vai, pretty cool.

No problem! It seems as if ZGirl & I always miss those type of specials on TV (like the FREE Rush show all March on DirecTV too)
It's nice to be able to spread the word on the board so everyone can enjoy, they have showed some pretty good videos (and some pretty bad ones too, hehe)

It was seeing "Who's Behind the Door" on there that made me surf the net for Zebra and find this site. They definitely play cool, somewhat obscure videos!

Anything but rap seems obscure these days.

For the VH-1 Classic-challenged, please post some videos you saw over the weekend that you were shocked to see after all the years. I can't remember the last time I saw Killer Dwarfs "Keep The Spirit Alive", with the singer in that crate the whole time.

Just noticed the "Alcatrazz" video with Steve Vai. I never saw that, and I watched MTV ALL the time when that album came out. Do you remember which song it was for? I only saw the 2 they had with Yngwie in the band...Island In The Sun, and Hiroshima Mon Amour. I wonder just how many bands made videos we never knew about or saw just because MTV didn't feel like playing them at the time.

I didn't catch which tune Alcatraz played but I know it was with Vai (I actually forgot he played with them and told ZGirl to look for YMalmsteen and she said it was Vai).
Dude, I don't know much about Killer Dwarfs but they did show one of their videos today. It was a video in which they were in a lob of some sort (a basement maybe) and they were manufacturing vinyl LP's, I can remember them putting the whole in the LP & applying the sticker, I didn't catch the whole thing, just towards the end.
I saw THREE Ace F.'s Comet videos, the Wait For You Bonham video, lots of QR, Summertime Girls by Y&T, a couple of WASP (I wanna Be... & Blind in TX), freaken' Loudness, RoCK n Roll crazy nights, Lillian Axe (another New Orleans band) Dream of a Lifetime, and a many more.
I wish I had a way to tape from my DirecTV reciever. I think I will go out & buy some cables as they always show Metal Mania for an hour almost everyday and I could over time record most of the videos they played this weekend. In fact I HAVE to do that while they are still showing these videos as I never thought I'd see these again!
Saw some really horrible vids too by Vendetta, Wolfhound (sp?) & Evo (or something like that, chinese looking guys from '87 on Geffen).
I'm about to turn the TV on now that I'm back home and see what's on for tonight.

Wow, a buddy at work made two 6 hour tapes and let me borrow the first one, which I made a copy of!!!!!!! AWESOME. A LOT of the videos, I never saw, but I can't say I was surprised by any bands, I'd heard of all of them at the very least. I don't know if they were videos just on MTV Europe at the time, or if MTV only played them once or twice at like 3 a.m., and just wasn't seen by anybody. I was amazed at my recall for videos, knowing what it was from just the opening shot. That band was EZO, from Japan. They had a couple other videos on MTV as well. I think they were produced by Gene Simmons, if I remember right. LOTS of other obscure videos. I'm looking forward to getting the next tape. I only got to see about half of the first one as it was. I need VH-1 classic, that's all there is to it!!!
