Ok everyone, I'm sure you have heard me mention "Streamline" my nephews band.
These guys have it going on, and I'm not biased, Im my nephews biggest fan and his worst critic.
What I need is some info from YOU on clubs in your area, NO, Miss, Bama,
Fla, Texas, etc etc. that cater to original music.
All I need is the names, thats all, pm me, e/mail me
thirty5zero@yahoo.com
Trust me their myspace website does them no justice, they are currently laying down tracks for about 8 new tunes, kind of a Black Crowes vibe.
Great musicianship great vocals, and melody.
These guys need some exposure, They have just moved here from LA, Cal.
The shows here in BR have been getting great fan response, and the crowds are getting larger.
Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!
These guys are NOT your everyday screaming grungy sounding band.
Thanks,
Danny Ourso
This band has the potential to be something special, so lets help em out a little.

Danny...there a few places in Lafayette I want to suggest:
Grant St. Dancehall
Nitetown (on Jefferson St. in Lafayette)
Longhorn Saloon (this is in New Iberia, LA)
Ironhorse (I think this one is in Scott, LA)
That's about all I can think of right now..oh wait....maybe try Downtown Alive. Here is their link: http://www.downtownalive.org/Events/EventsDisplay.asp?p1=2235&p2=Y&p9=E&E=N
Downtown Alive is fantastic. It's only held during the spring and fall. The DTA org might be interested in having them too.
Good luck!

My advice would be to move back to LA. They'll never make it in this God forsaken state. You have to leave Louisiana to be successful in the music business.

Or come north like our favorite band did. Then ask Joel and Andrew for help, they're great promoters.

The LA scene is not what alot of people think, they are saturated with all styles of music and does not matter how good you are, Unless you are really well known you cannot even get a paying gig.
That is not only from Streamline but quite a few very good artist that tried it, Its a place to meet good musicians and find good musicians but once you get something togethor you gotta get out.
Plus try paying $1500 a month for a one bedroom apartment, barely one bedroom.
I think you can make it anywhere, but you have to develop a regional following such as Zebra did in La in the 70's they packed the places they played here and played NY occasionally, the record companys noticed this audience here in La and thats where it really got started.
I guees what I mean is in LA you just cannot get that local following, or 3, 4 state following.
As for as a record deal, right now ain't the time to sign your life away, when you can record your own proffesional grade cd and sell it at your shows.
If you get enough att. then you can tell the labels what you want if not s.crew em because they will bury it deeeeep in you at this time.
Yes you have to be willing to travel out of louisiana, but its not a bad starting point with the coast to the east and Texas a few hours away.
Plus there is some money to be made here when you can pack the people in.
Keeps you going for bigger and better things.

Danny, another way to get exposure is to have them record a few songs and send them to XM Radio. They have a station called "Unsigned Artist" or something like that, where they play bands getting started. As long as they have a website set up, have them record a few songs and send them in. I once did this for Zebra with Arabian Nights, since really they DIDN'T have a record contract at the time. Now they've been heard on other stations.
Another venue is to send an email to Andrew@melodicrock.com. He is a good friend of ours, as we send him info on Zebra/Randy stuff that helps pull in a few fans. He also has a Live365.com radio station that he sometimes puts music from various bands. Just mention you are a friend of Zebra's and just ask him to post the songs for people to listen. He likes to showcase up and comming talent as well.
If not, send me the tunes, along with some history and I'll get it to him.
