That lsit is about half right. Some of those, I wouldn't put top 20, although they are pretty popular. One that should be top 10 is Crazy Train, since the local music store giving lessons always ALWAYS has a kid in there trying to learn that song. Over 25 years old, and 12 year old kids are still wanting to learn that song. That says something!!!

My favorite all time riff is Black Sabbath - Heaven and Hell

Not a bad list though, as far as these sort of lists go.

Not too bad. No way that GNR should have two songs in the top 10 though. Eruption should be in there somewhere too....but I am biased on that one.:wavetowel3:

I don't think of Eruption as a riff but rather as a solo.

What happened to "Stairway" LOL

Kinda like Waynes World where the sign said Staireway not allowed in the music store. I think thats how it went.

I can think of a few more that should be on here and a few that should not,
I kind of like Pantera's "Cemetary gates" although not a big Pantera fan.

As much as I love My Generation and Born To Be Wild, neither belong on this list. It's top riffs, and neither of those songs has any actual riff to speak of. They're great songs, but the melody isn't in the guitar line (bass/vocals for My Generation, keyboards/vocals for Born to Be Wild). I'll barely count Smells Like Teen Spirit, even then it's more of a power chord progression than a proper riff.

The three GnR songs should be way farther down on the list, too. Both have very solid riffs, but honestly, Voodoo Chile, Paranoid, and especially Money for Nothing should be way above them.

The more I look at this list the more I see that it is just a "commercial music" list. One or two on here I can see in the top but I can think of about 25 more that kick this list arsss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
