Rush was CRANKED up and firing on ALL cylinders. This was my 7th time seeing them live and this by far was the best I've seen them play, even with the flub during Subdivisions(you could see Geddy laugh when he didn't turn the synth on soon enough). Saw lots of the board members before the show tailgaiting and that really got the ball rolling for a GREAT night. After seeing this show, it makes you want to act like the Deadheads and follow them around the country on tour. YES....it was that good. Just hope it don't take another 12 years before they come back to town again(or anywhere remotely close!!!).

I think that's a great setlist for someone who hasn't seen Rush before, but I am disappointed that there isn't a single song in the setlist that I haven't seen them play before. I was hoping they would add something new. I'll be seeing them again in 2 weeks, so I'm hoping for a change, but I'm not expecting one. :verysad:

Usually, when a setlist is in place, it runs its course with maybe a song or two moved around within the set. The surprise for me last night was how willing the venue was to allow all the pyro to happen. Since '96, we haven't had the opportunity to see Rush live so this was a BIG shot in the arm for local Rush fans. I'm hoping that with them doing an Arena last night, maybe they'll rethink their logistics and include such venues in the future. I caught them from '84 to '96 and they came down here for every new album in that timeframe.

Funny you should mention adding something new. I read(and hope to listen to) an interview with Alex and he said(jokingly) that they should get together and gather all the songs they've never done live before and call it the "B Side Tour". That would be interesting considering the age of some of the tracks and volume of the catalog.

Alex also hinted at them doing Jacob's Ladder and/or The Camera Eye on the current tour, and those didn't happen - so I wouldn't hold my breath for a B sides tour. If it did happen, just tell me when and where and I'll be there!

Enjoyed last night's perfomance tremendously!
Was great to see everyone & hang out before before the show, too.

I was just blown away by the energy in this show. Alex is just a really phenomenal guitar player with sound the way it ought to be. Definitely will be on the floor next time since not loud enough and too much echo in the back not to mention could not see. I think Geddy sings alot like another guy I know.

WOW! I must add my 10 cents! The whole day Sunday could not have turned out any better. The first tailgate spot had a few peoples but...the move to Lot 3....KICKED ASS! The beer, wine, & jello shots were flying! A great turn out and wonderful to party with some GOOD FRIENDS!

Couple of things I learned:

1) Driving to New Orleans with my crazy cousin Kimie in tow was not a good idea (the hairspray & perfume spraying never stopped). I was waiting for Jeff to kick her out of the truck any minute! LOL!
2) April weather in New Orleans can sure turn out beautiful!
3) Parking lots around the arena should open a little earlier.
4) RUSH.....PRICELESS! Enough said.
5) Watching 12,000 people go quiet when Neil Peart did his drum solo...NICE! Did anyone else notice that? I did!
6) The Southpark video still cracks me up! "I'M GEDDY LEE AND I CAN SING IT ANYWAY I WANT!" AAHHHAAAAAAA!
7) Ourssssoooooo was a little perplexed after the show...we know Danny...we know. (so good to see you....will try and get in touch with Don this week). see you on the 3rd!
8) Jeff and I shared a very, very special moment during "Ghost of a chance". I love you so much!
9) ziggy is on the mend! I miss you!
10) Lots of talk about "open house" parties sure were going around.

And I agree with you BG...I didn't recoup until this morning. Sunday night concerts are rough.

See you guys on the 3rd! Party on!
