Asia was one of favorite bands 25 years ago. They are reunited with all original band members (John Wetton formerly of King Crimson, Carl Palmer formerly of ELP, guitarists Steve Howe and keyboardist Geoff Downes formerly of Yes are together again on the road touring. Anyway, they will be playing at the Paragon Casino in Marksville playing a Saturday night show on April 26th. There is an attached hotel to the casino. Just in case anyone else was interested.

I saw them last night at NorthFork Theatre- Westbury - AWESOME SHOW !!! I was surprised that the show was not " in the round " like most shows there. but in spite of not getting different angles to take photos - the 5th row seat was great.

Asia was awesome last night. The place seats approx 2500 people and the sound system and stage were huge. The stage was simple but there were screens on both sides of the stage. They played a good mix of old and new songs and even did Roundabout. Steve Howe sounded good and John Wetton's voice is still top notch. Geoff Downes came out and did a spin from when he was with The Bugles. Carl Palmers drum solo was breathtaking. If you did not make it, you missed a really good show. ZZ Top will be there next month.

I'm seeing Asia next week. I'm really looking forward to it. I picked up their new CD the other day and I'm really not too impressed by it. It is a tad too adult contemporary for my taste.

there's a lot of artists releasing new material. I've heard the title track "Dirty City" by Steve Winwood. It rocks, Eric Clapton does guitar on this track. Also heard the new Black Crowes "Daughters of the Revolution", another great tune. Sheryl Crow has 2 new tracks out, "Free Gasoline" and "Gates of Babylon". If you want to hear them you got to listen to 101.9 WRXP. I haven't heard these songs anyplace else. Great new station.

My friend and I went to the Paragon Casino in Marksville LA Saturday and ASIA totally ROCKED the joint! First time seeing them and I was totally impressed with this group of superior musicians. See them if they come your way, you won't be disappointed. One of the cleanest sounding shows I've seen in a LONG time.

The new ASIA CD is really good....listened to it on the way up. They played a few tracks from the CD along with the hits. As a bonus....Roundabout(Yes/Howe), Court Of The Crimson King(King Crimson/Wetton), Fanfare For The Common Man(ELP/Palmer), and Video Killed The Radio Star(Buggles/Geoff Downes). Like RS said...2 video screens on each side of the stage showed special effects and on some songs, the old videos(some of which made the bandmembers look like babies!!!!). AND.......this show was ONLY $25!!! It ran 2hrs and 15minutes.

I love casino shows....by the midpoint of the show, a lot of the cronies/comps left their seats and we moved up in theirs. NICE!!!!! Shame a video of this hasn't shown up yet, this one is a keeper!!

I saw Asia last year at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank NJ. They were exceptional. As I am a huge ELP fan, Carl Palmer's drum solo was a highlight for me.

It seems they are doing the same covers as last year which is a little dissapointing. I would have liked it if they had chosen something other than Fanfare For The Common Man, which of course was composed by Aaron Copland, which means Asia is doing a cover of a cover.

I saw them a few years ago in Atlanta touring with the Fixx and Berlin. What an awesome show. Sat front row in awe. Asia was and still is one of my favorite bands. I was thrilled to see them come out with this new album.

Attended the Asia show in Dallas Sunday night...simply outstanding. Been a fan since 1982 and this was the first time I finally got to see them perform live. Stood about 15 feet back from the stage right in front of John Wetton.

Im with Doc. Seen em last year same tour but at State Theatre in New Brunswick. 3rd row center, great seats. The Palmer drum solo was awesome!

They still doing one song from each of their pasts?

If so the same ones? Court of the crimson king, Fanfare, radio Killed and Roundabout?

Seeing Palmer work over his kit that close was simply amazing and I dug how Wetton tapes a pick to his thumb so he can still use his other fingers for complicated patterns and still have the attack of a picked bass string! Downes is a better keyboard player than I expected and rockin' grandpa Steve Howe can still play some pretty arpeggios and riffs! Definitely worth checking out if you have a chance.

watching palmer work the sticks on his drum solo is truly witnessing a piece of art!
