Foot Surgery - Again [Archive]

Well, the day is almost here...

On Monday, March 24th, I will, once again be undergoing foot surgery.
This one will be more extensive than the last one & I will be out of
commission for a while again. I can't wait until it's over and hope the outcome will be much better than the last one. Wish me luck. I still
hope to go to the Rush concert in April and the Tomato Fest in May -
even though it'll be by wheelchair.....

Ouch! good luck! My wife just reinjured her ankle & has to schedule surgery. The doc said she wont be able to put weight on it for 3-4 months.Its such a mess he cant gaurantee great results. So best of luck.

Thanks everyone.....I'm nervous about this one - they're just
about reconstructing my foot this time and grafting some bone
matter from out of my knee... I'm hoping and praying for the best!
It would be great to be able to stand up and walk longer than
what I've been able to do currently... anyway - HAPPY EASTER

The surgery went fine, she was in surgery for almost 4hrs. The doctor came by before I left the room and said everything looks good. She'll be in a cast for some time. Now comes the healing.

She's at Tulane Medical Center Hospital in room 7222D. Her pain level is quite high still so she's in and out a lot.....

I'll keep you guys posted as she progresses. Hopefully, this will be the LAST surgery for her with this.....

Karen I will keep you in my prayers. And remember if you are in wheelchair still you can get some of the best seats in the house at the shows!! Keep up the hard work good things come to good people. Much luck and love...

Spoke with Peggy (Mrs. Macca0 today) Karen should be home on Thurs. I along with my new kitchen helper (thanks baby) have been cooking up a feast, when Ziggy get's home she and the family will have a menu that would make your mouth water.........MMMMMM a Home cooked meal!!!!! PRICELESS!

Visited with Karen Monday & Tuesday. She is doing fine. She is in severe pain....other than that...she is hanging in there. Get well my friend. I will be there in a heartbeat..all you have to do is say the word. I might try and get back to NO next week. Not sure it will be possible but...I'll let ya know. Miss you lots.

Hello everyone! :heart:
Got near a computer for the 1st time today. I got sprung from
the hospital friday night. I am doing a bit better each day.
Some other complications arose, but are being handled.
Thank you to all my Zebra friends for all the care & concern.

So glad you are home and getting better. I want to head out there so bad but..with Leslie about to pop....this baby sure is taking his sweet time....Leslie is miserble....hoping maybe over the weekend. Hello again, everyone!
Still improving a bit more each day. The pain has lessened.
Now the worst part is not being able to go anywhere or drive - going stir crazy! The only time I've been out is to go to the doctor. :Jumpy:
Oh well - this too shall pass in time.... Looking forward to the
RUSH show in 10 days - It will be my first outing & I can't wait!

Update: I'm happy to report that I've been back at work now for
2 weeks. I am still in a cast & using a walker and a wheelchair.
I see the foot surgeon again in another week & hopefully will see
how the surgery is progressing.

I'M GOING CRAZY NOT BEING ABLE TO DRIVE!!!

Can't wait til I can go where I want, when I want again. I've only
gotten out a few times since the surgery and most of that was to
go to the doctor. (Talk about going stir crazy! It's been almost 2
months now.) Luckily I can get to work easily, because I work in
the same place as I live. Anyway, it'll all be worth it, if this surgery
makes my foot at all better than it was....

Saw the foot surgeon today...After 2 months, the cast is now gone!
I am now, once again, wearing one of those velcro-strapped walking
boots. At least, I can do some walking now. And now I will have some
mobility again...with more to come soon, hopefully. Also, the x-rays
showed that the healing is coming along well. I sure hope the surgery
works this time.
