Wow! They don't list a cause of death. He couldn't have been that old.

I just heard about this and I'm stunned. StiX was a Quiet Riot fan - not sure if he's heard yet. Very sad - I hope it wasn't suicide or an overdose. 52 ios young.

RIP Kevin.

Here's a nice eulogy to DuBrow on the Classic Rock Revisited site:

http://www.classicrockrevisited.com/Interviews/07/dubrowtribute.htm

Jeb Wright (the founder/moderator) of that site seems to have had a very close relationship with him. Quiet Riot were huge in the early 80's and Metal Health definitely group heavy metal to the top of the charts (and made Slade somewhat popular in the US). RIP.

I did my math 2007-1955 = 52

Close to the same age as Robert Palmer and Jerry Garcia when they passed.

RIP

I'm hoping it is NOT drug related. Usually, when "rockstars" die, that's the first thing they think. Suicide.......can't really comment on that without getting in deep........

I did read that he had cocaine problems at some point..... :(

Macca - that's what I meant. Clearly I'm sure you knew that - being a fast typist isn't always a good thing!!

Forgive me, but I hope he wasn't found wearing that mask from the Metal Health video LOL

I was sorry to hear about Kevin...one of the first metal bands I got into as a kid was Quiet Riot, brings back many memories...also had the opportunity to sit down with Kevin (and the rest of Quiet Riot) several years ago, at a show I helped promote...Despite all the crazy stories of him being obnoxious, he was pretty soft spoken and down to earth, maybe time had made him humble...R.I.P. Kevin.

Sorry to hear this also.
Never was a big time Riot fan, I remember how Dubrow used to down alot of diff. bands did not like that part of him. But it is sad to hear this, and they did make some BIG TIME NOISE on the metal scene.
ITs really ashame when anyone at this age passes away and its happening more and more with musicians at or around this age group, the drug and alcohol abuse does play a big roll in this, I"m not saying that was in this case, but so many others.

RIP: Kevin

Thanks for the update Macca. I was waiting to hear what actually happened but also kinda hoping it was not drug related - What a shame.

No jokes, I have "former friends" who have been in rehab, relapsed, endless cycle. Emphasis on FORMER friends.....Dubrow didnt WANT to clean himself up....Nevertheless we can still remember him for his contribution to 1980's rock and roll music. It's still sad....

Damn! This is the first time I've ever heard about it! How many legends is the world of music gonna lose? First Ahmet Ertegun, and now Kevin DuBrow! What the hell! How'd he die?
