Nice!!! Looks like "The Song Remains The Same" movie is now out on HD DVD and Blu-ray too!! I will have to suggest that as a stocking stuffer. :Lighten:

rumor has it (on www.melodicrock.com this morning) that they will be touring in 2008 with The Cult supporting! :)

Circuit City had the DVD "deluxe" boxset. Best Buy ----- they "claimed" the set wasn't coming out until NEXT week. Sorry BB, couldn't wait that long to see this again.....

Yup, Best Buy disappointed and lost the sale. I have only watched the bonus stuff on the second disc and it kicks ass, especially the four new songs...

In the new Guitar World magazine, Jimmy Page explains how they remastered the audio to more closely match the video. Also, there are roughly an additional 40 extra minutes of music vs. the original. This version is supposed to be the MSG concert in its entirety, which includes 4 additional songs (Celebration Day, Over the Hills and Far Away, Misty Mountain Hop and The Ocean) but, I believe these 4 songs are not integrated into the original concert because of copyright issues with the film. They are simply added as bonus material. With that said, I have not seen it yet. I have the HD DVD ordered and will watch it as soon as it comes in. If there is anything else worth adding, I will do so on this thread!

Yes, the 4 new songs are not in the movie, the regular DVD version has the original movie on disc 1 and the 4 new songs and other extras on the second disc. The second disc has an interview with Peter Grant and Page about the show, some press conference about the stolen money and a radio spot on Led Zep.

Haven't had a chance to see the whole package yet, BUT.....the video is heads and shoulders BETTER than what was out before. The opening scene(mob)...incredible picture and clarity. There was some noticable fuzz on the river scene and when the bird flies over. Concert footage.......cleaner and brighter with lots more clarity.

I'd go into detail about the sound, but right now, the only mode for me is the 2 channel setup; and that kicks serious A$$.

Disc one is what you've seen before content wise.....the "added" songs are on disc 2. This is a no-brainer. Get this version. You won't be disappointed. Would love to see a HD or Blue-Ray copy so I'd see what I'm missing/hearing......
