So I left work a little early tonight and needless to say a car gets hit by a train at Mineola. Normally, I walk through my door at 7 PM. Tonight I got home at 9 PM. To say that I am glad tomorrow is Friday is an understatement.

At first the LIRR was dumping us off at Jamaica, but then decided to divert our train to the south line. I ended up in Sayville and thankfully a neighbor picked me up. What a night. I can't complain too much, for the mishaps that occur with the train do not happen too often.

Just once I would like it to happen on my way too work instead of on the way home.

I saw the details of this on tv this morning and the driver escaped, thank God without injury. Apparently, she was a handicapped woman and was helped from her car by fire dept. personnel.

It did make for a long night for me, but I can imagine how she must be feeling.

I saw it on the news also. Apparently she made a right turn onto the tracks thinking it was a street. The couple that stopped to help were from the fire dept & NYC police. The gate came down when they were trying to get her out. Then the woman told them she was handicapped & couldn't walk. I would've freaked out. Imagine seeing the lights heading towards you and hearing that horn blaring? That's one lucky woman!
