Has anyone seen Rush this time around? If so, was there a warmup band?
And is the warm up band worth seeing? I am going Sunday and all the ticket says is 7:30.....I called the venue, PNC Arts Center of Holmdel NJ and they didnt know either. LOL Thanks
On the Lawn I wouldn't recommend getting there late anyhow. Otherwise nevermind Binos you're gonna need a telescope.
Gregg trying to get a hubbell into PNC! lol!

Usher to me
Is that a Hubbel in your p@nts or are you just happy to see me! :tomato:
All the Rush tours in the last 10 years or so have been An Evening with Rush, meaning a long set with no opening band.

Saw them at Jones Beach. No warm-up band. Best performance I've seen from them in years. Excellent vocals. They play a lot of Snakes and Arrows so if you have it, listen to it. Setlist spoilers are available at http://rushisaband.com. Many albums not represented but a few surprises that were pulled our of the vaults.
I doubt Rush will ever have an opener again. They just wanna play for a long time themselves.

Rush reviews always make me cringe. This quote from that article is typical of the stupidity of music reviewers:
"If there's any bone to pick with Rush, it's the portentous lyrics, written chiefly by Peart and sung in Lee's preternatural falsetto. They're no easier to take seriously now ("We can only bow to the here and now in our elemental war," from the new song "The Way the Wind Blows") than they were then ("Science, like nature, must also be tamed with a view towards its preservation,""
Why can't these lyrics be taken seriously? If not these lyrics, then what lyrics should be taken seriously? "Pour some sugar on me?" Why can so many people only take numbskull lyrics "seriously." Why does rock have to be relegated to a such a base form of art whereas film is given the freedom to express itself in any genre it chooses?
The only worthwhile Rush review is from a Rush fan with a critical edge. Others just aren't ever gonna get it!

agreed Dan about that type of journalism. And you make a great point about lyrics. As far as "Pour some sugar on me", I've always thought that Def Leppard was and is one of the most overrated bands ever and since Steve Clark passed away, they are merely a nostalgia tour....I'm in fact thinking of going to Styx, Foreigner, Def Leppard and walking out after Foreigner!!!!
