I saw Eric Burdon a couple years ago. I enjoyed the show. War was also on the same bill, if you can believe that. I was really hoping Eric would come out with them and sing Spill the Wine, but it didn't happen. Anyway, if you would like to see photos I took from the show, you can find them here:

It would have been great if Eric had joined in for that with War...

Thanks for showing your photos - great shots! I especially love the sunglasses and the Revolver shirt Burdon is wearing!

I met him and partied with him backstage at the House of Blues a couple of years ago. That man can hang out with me anytime - your right he's still got it!!!!

Eric Burdon rocked the Columbia Theatre in Hammond tonight!
Macca & I were lucky enough to get front row seats.
Unfortunately they did not allow photos to be taken. :ranting2:

He did many Animals' hits including:
It's My Life
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood
See See Rider
When I Was Young
River Deep, Mountain High
We Gotta Get Out of This Place

He said it was good to be back in the South
and told the crowd that they were concerned about us - glad that
we are strong and coming back!

He then started singing "...when you're down in New Orleans, you gotta
go see the Mardi Gras..."
and then did - I Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans (partial song)

before really rocking the place down with -
House of the Rising Sun!

After the show, Macca & I went & waited around the stage door (inside)
with some items we brought (in hopes of getting them signed). There
were only about 8 people there, the theatre had emptied out. Most of the
people waiting said they "knew people" that worked there or something.
After waiiting a good while though, one by one each of these people left without getting anywhere. I said to Macca, I bet these 2 police officers
are going to ask us to vacate the building now.
However....I gave something a shot.

A blonde haired lady wearing a name badge kept going in & out of the stage
door. I asked her on her way back in "Do you think there is any chance
of having this signed? (holding up an 8X10 photo I had brought along)
I further said to her that both of us used to have Mr. Burdon's autograph, but had lost them & all our posessions in Katrina. She said for us to wait
a minute, that she would ask. She said the worst he could say was "no".

When she came back out, she was looking down & had a very somber look
on her face. I told Macca, well at least the lady tried. She then quietly
told us to follow her. She asked for both of our first & last names, walked
us past a few police officers, through a few doors, & into "The Green Room"!

She personally introduced us by name to Mr. Eric Burdon! He shook our
hands and chatted with us for a few minues. He signed my photo and
2 CD booklets for Macca. I quietly took a photo of him & Macca while
he was signing Macca's stuff. Macca asked Eric if he could ask one more
thing of him. Macca asked if he would pose for a picture with him.

Well, I asked a nice gentleman who was backstage, if he would take the photo so that we could BOTH be in it. AND he did - so Macca & I have
a picture of us with Eric Burdon in the center.

We thanked him again and also thanked the lady who got us in for what
she did. What a great night!!!!

Very, very cool!!! Glad it worked out for you. I once waited about 2 hours outside in the rain to get to meet the guys in Yes, and they didn't even slow down when they left the building. Glad you didn't have to wait so long for nothing.

Well, a GREAT night indeed. Front row tickets(had to buy them seperate, and were a few seats apart). One thing about Burdon, no matter who he has playing with him, he will do a great show. Good mix of blues and classic Animals tracks. This is the first time I've seen him with the current "Animals" lineup(but hopefully, not the last!), a lot more blues based; but you will be satisfied. The icing on the cake was getting to the "Green Room" and having the opportunity to talk a bit, get some autographs and having a picture with him. I can't say this enough, if he comes to your town or close to it, DO NOT miss the show.

Thanks so much - we had a great time that night & replacing one of our lost (to Katrina) autographs meant a lot to us!

Thanks! Sometimes it pays off...sometimes it doesn't - can't hurt to try!
Macca & I have met some artists by waiting outside a venue after
a show. Some just bolt right past you & leave, some will oblige you
for an autograph or a picture.....
