well, that all looks good. i like that site "ireland on line." I'd like to know what goes on with the members. i remember once when plant and page played somewhere (relating to zeppelin), john paul jones was a little ticked because he wasn't asked to participate. I've always thought that he was a great bassist/keyboardist. While on this topic i also saw jason play with page, john paul jones and joe perry. I know jason is great, but on that tune, he was struggling to get in the groove. I'm sure everyone will be comparing him to his father.
Geez! Plant is so old looking anymore. He looks like the IMUS!
I seen John Paul Jones solo open for King Crimson about 5-6 years ago at the Beacon. Pretty awesome. He did 'Levy breaks' to a T.

Very interesting. Hopefully this will come to fruition. I would hate to see them build up a bunch of hype and not follow through like another big band that was supposed to reunite.

I'm a little afraid of reunions, because alot of times the band just plain does not sound as good as what we remember.
Hopefully not always so. I'm going to see ASIA tonight 25th reunion tour. fourth row center. And when I seen the Eagles reunion I thought they sounded as good as ever. Just more aged.

I am debating Styx/Foreigner (although NOT original members...)
but Def Leppard is with them whom I dont like

I saw Asia last year and they were great!!!! I also think the Eagles did a great job with their reunion. Actually, I think bands usually sound good with their reunions. There are a few exceptions (The Police immediately come to mind since I just saw them). As for Styx, they were great when they first reunited. But, after Dennis de Young left they turned into a cheesy retro band (IMHO). Enjoy the Asia show. I wish I was going - oh, wait, Zebra is playing tonight - that's where I wish I was tonight. :dunno:
I seen Styx reunion tour, the first one where they did paradise Theatre remake with Deyoung. Your right, that was also a great reunion show.
And I agree, retro now. But they still have Tommy Shaw and he is a superb musician. I seen them several times since that first reunion tour and I was'nt really impressed.
Now this is really sad. I check the site for the State Theatre in New Brunswick and there are still 1/2 of the seats left.

But I'm pretty sure I know what the real problem was promoting this show.
First off its a Thursday night. Secondly Rutgers campus which is right in the general vicinity is out for the summer.
Zebra playing tonight. Was gonna attend. But then out of hundreds of shows I seen I seen Zebra plenty of times. Seen all the guys in Asia with their different bands but never together. Hoping for a great show.

You were right 2112. ASIA, them ol men kicked butt!
Played all their stuff their famous for except 'GO'.
Did an individaul tune from each of their background
Downes - Radio Killed The Video Star (although a silly song it came off really good)
Palmer - Fanfare for Mankind (His drum solo during 'The heat goes on' was awesome. He's still in awesome shape physically! Ladies were yelling out from the audience saying 'Hey! Your hott!'
Wetton - In The court of the Crimson King (was a bit surprised because Greg Lake was the original singer of this tune. Wetton came into crimson later but I guess he always sang it on tour with them).
Howe - Roundabout (Still as skinny as ever but looking better then the last time I seen him a few years back with Yes. Kicks butt on guitar as usual).
Gets my thumbs up. I would recommend you see them if they come around your way. :good:

Thanks Mark! Did any of the band have solos too? Agree Howe is awesome!
Howe did an acoustic solo that sounded very close to 'The Clap' but it also had a different touch.
Palmer did a drum solo that was great. The man can handle the sticks as well if not better then Peart. Flipping em bihind his back. over his head, placing ion symbols and bouncing em around without losing a beat. Very coordinated and still quick on the skins. He has gotta be pushing 60 by now and the guy is still a bit buff.

Yes, Palmer is one of my top 3 drummers. The man is awesome. When I saw them last year Carl looked like he was having a blast. There weren't that many people at the show I was at either. I went down to Las Vegas and saw them on my birthday. Glad you enjoyed the show as much as I did.
Well, I did say that when I last checked yesterday morning they're were alot of seats left. But place seem to fill up. Guess at door ticket sales.
Last seen Palmer with ELP a couple times 5-7 years back. Once at PNC (twin bill with Tull) and another time at the same State theatre. He never disapoints.

How is the State Theatre? Comfort wise, atmosphere?
All right. Aged, but in good shape. Sound isn't bad. Not as good as NJPAC but then your talking about places that were built probably 30-40 years apart. I like New Brunswick because of all the nice restaurants. But then the friends I hooked up with were late so we were only able to do quick pizza slices before the show.

So I guess its like the Count Basie in Red Bank where I saw Frampton last fall? Does it have a balcony and fit a couple thousand people?
Balc yes. Couple thou? I doubt it. We were trying to guess last night. We were thinking more in terms of 1500 people capacity. www.statetheatrenj.org see for yorself, virtual tour

I Have Been Hearing Similar Rumors In The Last Three Months Or So, However I Did Get Some Serious No B.s. Info On This Tour Coming Togethor. I Heard That Jason Was Not Going To Be A Part Of The Tour. I Hope That Info Was Wrong. I Really Think We Will See A Tour Of Page, Plant, Jones. It Will Not Be Called Zeppelin Though!!!
My Fingers Are Crossed And Yes They Can Still "hit The Notes"

With no (Jason) Bonham, they could take a page out of Black Sabbath's book and call themselves "Stairway to Heaven"
Seriously though, who has the rights to the Led Zeppelin name? And would Bonzo's estate interfere?

Robert Plants Denies Led Zeppelin Reunion For Memorial Concert
Posted By DSR on 06.28.07
Robert Plant has shot down reports that Led Zeppelin will reunite for a one-off memorial concert in honor of their late record company boss.
A report was published earlier in the week suggesting that Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will re-group alongside John Bonham's son Jason for a special concert in memory of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun in London.
A source was quoted as saying, "Page, Plant and Jones spoke and agreed to do the memorial concert. They are waiting for a definite date.
And no one can quite believe it, but during discussions about the concert they all gave the green light to a tour if it all does well and they don't all fall out.
It has been hoped for and denied for years. But this is the closest they have ever come to a reunion tour. The feeling is that this is going to happen next year."
Speaking at a press conference for the upcoming Rockwave festival — which is scheduled to be held June 29th, July 1st and July 3rd in Athens, Greece — Plant insisted that he hadn't heard anything about the rumored Zeppelin reunion and jokingly added, "If there was one, then there wouldn't be enough doctors to support it!"
